USD/ INR: Rupee Strengthens Against the Dollar

USD/INR- The Rupee settled at 74.88 against the US dollar as it converted most of its intra day gains yesterday. The dollar index also fell by 0.01% and was at 93.08. The rupee saw an intra day high of 74.78 and an intra day low of 74.90.

USD/INR: Oil Prices Rise

Today, the WTI futures rose by 0.6% and ended the day at USD 42.28 by 00:23 GMT. On the other hand, Brent crude increased by 0.5% and was at USD 45.01. China increased its imports of oil from the US, thereby helping the prices. Further, the easing of pandemic restrictions globally has also contributed to the increase in prices. But, there are worries over the rising number of cases and their subsequent impact on demand.

USD/ INR- Gold Prices Today

Gold prices fell for the second straight day. The October gold futures fell by 0.04% to end at Rs. 52,207 per 10 grams on the multi-commodity exchange. In the international market, spot gold was down by 0.2% and was at $1,941.90. However, Silver futures rose by 0.35% to Rs. 67,403 per kg.

A weaker dollar helped capped losses made by gold. Further, the gold traders will be looking at the minutes of the most recent policy meeting of the Federal Bank. The tensions between the US and China and Donald Trump’s re-election campaign will have an impact on gold prices in the upcoming days.

USD/ INR- Sensex Today

The Sensex ended in the green after falling for three straight days. That is, it was up 173 points. It ended at 38,050.78 at 3:40 PM IST. Similarly, the NIFTY also saw an increase and was at 11,259.40. 25 out of the 30 sensex stocks ended in green. NTPC, Bajaj Auto and Tech Mahindra were the top gainers and SBI, Airtel and RIL were the top losers.
