India Reports Highest Single Day Rise of 1,52,879 COVID-19 Cases
Alarming situation across India as India reported the highest single-day spike in COVID-19 cases. Total of 1,52,879 new COVID-19 cases and 839 deaths reported on Saturday. This takes India’s total COVID-19 tally of cases to 1,33,58,805 and the death toll surging to 1,69,275.
According to MoHFW, the active COVID-19 cases stand at 11,08,087. In addition, total of 1,20,81,443 people have recovered from COVID-19.

Shocking Imbalance in Distribution of COVID-19 of COVID-19 Globally: WHO Director General
Tedros Adhanom Ghenreyesu, WHO Director-General, raised concerns over the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine. Out of the total 220 countries, 196 have started the COVID-19 vaccination drive. Leaving 26 countries that have not started vaccinating their citizens.

Maharashtra CM Hints Lockdown From April 12th
COVID-19 crisis deepens in Maharashtra. CM Uddhav Thackeray hinted that lockdown may be imposed from April 12th for 15 days to control the rising number of cases. The state reported an alarming 55,411 COVID-19 cases on Saturday.

Fresh COVID-19 Restrictions Imposed in Delhi in Addition to Night Curfew
No social, political, sports, cultural and religious gatherings allowed.
Cap on funeral gatherings up to 20 people allowed.
Cap on wedding attendees restricted to 50 people.
Delhi Metro, buses, restaurants, movie theatres, and bars to operate at 50% occupancy.
Only essential services allowed in COVID-19 containment zones.
Air Travel restrictions on people arriving from Maharashtra with RT-PCR report not older than 72 hours mandatory.
