Karnataka Coronavirus Positive Cases Cross 6000

Karnataka recorded 120 new Coronavirus cases today. Total Coronavirus cases in Karnataka now stand at 6041. Meanwhile, it recorded 257 recoveries taking the cured count to 2862. Active cases as on date stand at 3108. Sadly, three deaths were also reported today. Karnataka registered more recovered cases than new cases for the second consecutive day.

Udupi District remains the worst affected, with 947 COVID-19 positive count. However, it did not report any new cases today. Kalaburagi and Yadgir Districts have relatively higher overall tally of 780 and 669 Coronavirus positive cases respectively. Further, Bengaluru Urban District recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases today with 42 positive cases.

Death Rate and Cured Cases in Karnataka

Mortality rate still rose 1.14% way below the national average of 2.79%. Total of Recovered cases increased to 2862. The death toll is at now 69 in Karnataka as 3 passed away in Bengaluru Urban and Dharwad districts. Total COVID-19 testing in the state stands at 4,08,506 with 8249 patients being tested today.

Karnataka Announces its Final Decision on Online Classes

The governments sought experts from NIMHANS their opinion on the matter. Following that, the state made a final decision on the issue, concluding that conducting the SSLC examination is absolute. Further, Karnataka banned online classes for students below Class 5.

No Institutional Quarantine for Maharashtra Returnees

Health Minister announced the cancellation of institutional quarantining for returnees from Maharashtra. Instead, Karnataka is set to implement strict home quarantine. Further, the said returnees will be under the eyes of ASHA workers, home guards, and police officers.
