Untimely rains throughout India are set to affect the kharif crop harvest this year. Paddy crop is majorly cultivated throughout India and production will be hit due to flooding in regions of India. Farmers in north India have already started harvesting the crop of non-basmati and 1509 basmati paddy. These rains will affect the quality and output of grains and will eventually have an impact on prices. Indian Basmati and Non-Basmati Rice prices are set to decrease in the coming weeks.
1509 New crop prices corrected due to weak demand. International and domestic buyers of basmati rice are expecting further decrease in prices by 2-3 Rupees a kg for all variants of basmati rice.
