Coronavirus Cases in Maharashtra Rise to 781

Coronavirus cases in Maharashtra rose to 781 after 33 people tested positive today. As of today 45 people have died in Maharashtra due to COVID-19. According to Maharashtra State Health Department 19 of the new cases reported are from Pimpri-Chinchwad, 11 from Mumbai and 1 each from Ahmednagar, Satara and Vasai. Total Number of cases in India reached 4410, Active cases 3943, Deaths 130 and Recovered Patients 337.

Rise in Coronavirus Cases in Maharashtra

From the graph we can see the steep rise in cases in the past week. The majority of increase in Coronavirus cases in Maharashtra are linked to Tablighi Jamaat. In addition, It remains a big concern for the state government to flatten the curve in the coming days.

Total active Coronavirus cases in Maharashtra are 680. Mumbai remains the hotspot for virus in the state with more than 190 confirmed cases.

Coronavirus Deaths in Maharashtra

Maharashtra reported 13 deaths in the past 24 hours taking the total number to 45.

30 Deaths recorded in Mumbai while Pune recorded 5 deaths. MC in Thane recorded 6 deaths, 1 death each have been confirmed in Aurangabad, Buldhana, Jalgaon and Amravati.

As confirmed by state officials more than 46000 people have been put under home quarantine. In addition, more than 3000 people are under institutional quarantine. Large number of people under institutional quarantine linked to Tablighi Jamaat even at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi. More than 3000 teams are currently working across Maharashtra to contain the cluster spread. While the state monitors more than 10 lakh people.
