BSE Sensex and Nifty50 Ends the Week in Green

Friday we witnessed a volatile session, bulls took over in the mid-session recovering the market to close in green. BSE Sensex closed at 33780 with surging by 242 points after recovering from a drop of 1400 points while Nifty50 rises 70 points to close at 9972 nearing the 10000 levels rebounding from low of 300 points.

Global scenario has a significant impact on the domestic equity market’s performance. Positive opening in European markets helped bulls push over the bears to end the market in green. This week’s session took a turn from closing in red to surging and ending positive helped in the upliftment of investors’ sentiments despite the dropping value of Rupee. Auto, Energy, Telecom and Realty stocks saw high selling with IT and Power witnessed profit booking impacted by H-1B visa news. Analysts advise being cautious while investing short-term because of volatility in the market.

Top Gainers: S&P BSE Sensex and Nifty50

In the BSE market, Orient Bell topped the list by 20%. Other gainers include Sharika Enter, Intense Tech, Cosyn and Alembic gaining 19.99%, 19.91%, 19.82% and 13.99% respectively. In the NSE market, GPT Infra increased the most by 20%. Further, JTEKT India, Gujarat Apollo, Hisar Metal and Asian Granito rose by 15.38%, 14.21%, 12.11% and 11.10% respectively.

On BSE Sensex index, M&M gained the highest by 7.22%. Followed by Bajaj Finance, Reliance, Bajaj Auto and UltraTech Cement surging 4.78%, 3.34%, 2.43% and 2.34% respectively. On NSE Nifty50 index, Bharti Infratel surged the highest by 6.74%. Other gainers include Shree Cements, Hero MotoCorp, Titan Company and Eicher Motors increasing by 5.37%, 3.98%, 2.78% and 2.52% respectively.

Losers: S&P BSE Sensex and Nifty50

In the BSE market, Pritish Nandy dropped the most by 10.14%. Further, Lotus Chocolate, Orissa Bengal, Innovators and CSL Fin lost 9.91%, 8.97%, 8.44% and 7.89% respectively. In the NSE market, Inspirisys solutions dropped the most by 10.58%. Other losers include Crest Ventures, Alkali Metals, Onward Tech and Tainwala Chemicals losing 7.06%, 6.89%, 6.75% and 6.21% respectively.

On BSE Sensex index, ONGC Dropped the highest by 3.39%. Other losers include Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Kotak Mahindra and TCS dipping by 2.91%, 1.63%, 1.47% and 1.41% respectively. On NSE Nifty50 index, Zee Entertainment Ltd. slumps the most by 4.21%. Further Power Grid Corporation, Wipro, Coal India and UPL fell by 2.75%, 2.35%, 2.21% and 1.39% respectively.

FII and DII

Foreign Institutional Investors took out a total of INR 1311.49 crores from the domestic equity market making a huge dent and lowering the hopes of a quick recovery. Foreign investors bought stocks of value 3579.73 crores and sell-off stocks of value INR 4891.22 crores making a negative impact.

Domestic Institutional Investors bought a total of INR 5251.66 crores of stocks and sold-off stocks of value INR 3306.51 crores during the session. Domestic investors with a positive close of the market invested a total amount of INR 1945.15 crores uplifting the equity market.
