There is a negative sentiment in the basmati rice market due to escalations of tensions in the Middle East. There is no demand for Basmati Rice in Iran, which imports more than 35% of Basmati, rice exported from India. Strict norms on pesticides imposed by Saudi food and drug authority on import of basmati rice to Saudi Arabia is another issue hurting the market. As per current trend the market is likely to go down in the coming days.
