USD/ INR: Indian Rupee Forex Report 17 February

USD/INR- The Indian currency settled at 72.76 at 9:45 PM INR on 17 February. The Indian rupee traded between 72.731 and 72.837 today. On the other hand, the dollar index fell today after experiencing a sharp rise last week. Accordingly, it fell by 0.03% and settled at 90.92 as of 9:19 PM EST on Wednesday. 

USD/ INR: Oil Prices

The US WTI crude oil prices rose today after falling the previous week. The oil demand concern and the growing coronavirus pandemic fear kept the investors on edge. Accordingly, crude oil rose by 1.18% at 9:32 PM on 17 February to trade at USD 61.86 per barrel globally. On the other hand, Brent Crude trading at USD 65.23 per barrel as it was traded 1.38% higher on Wednesday.

USD/ INR- Gold Prices

Precious metal prices fell to over a two month low. Accordingly, gold futures decreased by 1.45% or 680.00 Rupees to settle at 46219.00 per 10 grams on the multi-commodity exchange. Likewise, Silver futures decreased by 172.00 Rupees or 0.25% to settle at Rs. 69200.00 per kg. The emergence of COVID-19 pandemic and the COVID-19 mutants kept precious metals’ prices on edge this year. In the international market, Spot Gold was trading at USD 1778.61 per ounce in New York. On the other hand, Silver traded at USD 27.13 per ounce.

USD/ INR- Sensex Today

The BSE Sensex ended in the red on 17 February. Accordingly, Sensex decreased by 0.77% or 400.34 points. Thereby ending the session at 51,703.83 at 4:10 PM IST Wednesday. Similarly, the NIFTY decreased by 0.68% or 104.55 points and ended up at 15,208.90.
