55 new Coronavirus cases reported in Punjab today. Total Coronavirus cases in the state jumped to 2663. Further, active cases as on date stand at 482. Today Punjab recorded 22 cured patients while also two deaths were reported.
COVID-19 District Wise Report
Amritsar District remains the worst affected with 481 Coronavirus cases out of which 12 reported today. Jalandhar and Ludhiana Districts report 307 and 251 cases respectively with 14 and 9 cases reported today. Currently, for every 100 positive cases, 18 are active infections. Also, all districts in Punjab have reported 26 or more Coronavirus cases.
Punjab COVID-19 Testing
As on 08 June 2020 total Coronavirus tests conducted in Punjab stand at 1292821. On average the state is conducting 4348 tests per 1 million people. Further, 89 out of one million tested Coronavirus positive in Punjab.
Punjab Coronavirus Death Rate and Cured Cases
Mortality rate stands at 2% against the national average of 2.78%. Punjab has one of the highest Coronavirus recovery rates in India with a recovery rate of 79.91%. So far, a total of 2128 patients have been cured. Also, the state reports the death toll at 53.
Immigration Halt Affects Thousands
Several informal educational sectors that have built their livelihood around abroad dreams are now in misery. Approximately, an individual spends Rs 10 lakh on the immigration process in Punjab. Thus, making the coaching centres worth Rs 20,000 crore. Also, the aspirants are facing an everlasting hurdle due to the pandemic. Further, the halt has severely hit the consultants.
