BSE Sensex and Nifty50 Mark Positive Gains

BSE Sensex surged by 995.92 points to close at 31605.22 regaining strength in the afternoon session. Also, Nifty50 rose 285.90 points to settle at 9314.95 increasing by 3.17% during the session. After a flat opening, the financial market rallied to gain over 3% since yesterday. Bank, IT and Defensive sectors marked profit with FMCG, Media and Pharma sectors closing in the red.

Bank index tracked the best trade day in this month closing with a high of 7.3%. Strong buying was seen in most of the sectors showing a good sign of recovery. Besides, Investors will be keen in knowing new developments across the globe and in the domestic economy that can affect market sentiments. Also, crude oil prices and brewing tension between US and China will be tracked closely.

Investors will be cautious and will keep a watch on increasing Coronavirus cases and its vaccine.

Top Gainers: S&P BSE Sensex and Nifty50

In the BSE, Saksoft surged the most with 19.99%, followed by Kothari Product, AMD Industries and Birla Corporation increasing by 19.93%, 16.29% and 14.66% respectively. In the NSE market, Kothari Sugars soared the most by 20%. Other gainers include Solex Energy, Dhanuka Agritec and Axis Bank surging 19.76%, 15.25% and 13.39% respectively.

On BSE Sensex index, Axis Bank topped the list by 13.46%, followed by ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finance surging 8.97%, 5.91% and 5.84% respectively. On Nifty 50 index, ICICI Bank rose the most with 8.93%. Other gainers included Wipro, Grasim and UPL who gained by 6.59%, 6.38% and 5.65% respectively.

Losers: S&P BSE Sensex and Nifty50

In BSE, Innovative Idea lost 19.97% followed by Hariyana Ship, Vivid Global and Mysore Petro falling 11.32%, 10% and 8.76% respectively. On the NSE market, RKEC Projects dropped the most by 7.22%. Other losers included Torrent Pharma, TVS Srichakra and Emami dipping by 6.93%, 6.50% and 5.18% respectively.

On Sensex index, Sun Pharma dropped the most with 1.85%. Followed by Ultra Tech Cement, Titan and Asian Paints by 1.43%, 0.71% and 0.66% respectively. On Nifty 50 index, Sun Pharma affects the most by 1.80%. Other losers include Shree Cements, Zee Entertainment Ltd. and Power Grid Corporation dipping 0.92%, 0.45% and 0.13% respectively.

FII and DII

Foreign Institutional Investors purchased stocks of value INR 6191.51 crores and sold stocks of value INR 6526.25 crores during the intraday session. A net value of INR 334.74 crores taken out by foreign investors from the Indian equity market due to certain fears.

Domestic Institutional Investors bought stocks of value INR 5684.69 crores. Stock valued INR 3275.84 crores sold by domestic investors during the day. A net value of INR 2408.85 crores introduced in the equity market as of today.

The rising cases of Coronavirus in India have led investors’ sentiments to degrade. A strong BSE Sensex and NIFTY50 comeback were witnessed today.
