Indian Grain Prices: Wheat, Bajra, Jowar, Barley and Maize Prices as on 06.08.2019

Persistent rainfall due to southwest monsoon is a blessing for farmers in India. Maharashtra Government is turning to sowing of Coarse Grains to tackle Malnutrition in tribal areas of Thane, Palghar, Raigad and Nashik district. Initiative is named Pragati Abhiyaan and is targeting farmers in regions affected by malnutrition to grow Jowar, Bajra and Ragi. According to NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information) Research, Anaemia prevalence was extremely high among adolescent girls in rural areas of Maharashtra. Even though the disease is affecting young girls and women in Maharashtra, young boys and men are suffering with diseases associated with malnutrition. This millet drive will promote health benefits in the area with these cereals being enriched with Vitamin B, Niacin and Floc Acid. Find the current prices as on 06.08.2019 below:
