Low export demand for Basmati Rice is keeping the price stable. In terms of shipment quantity, June 2019 has to be the lowest for Basmati Rice exports from India. Low stocks are supporting the prices and we expect the same for the coming months.
New 60 days crop of 1509 Basmati has been harvested recently in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. Although this rice quality is not acceptable for exporting from India due to high moisture and low cooking quality, there is good demand in domestic market. Non-Basmati rice prices are unchanged from 25.06.2019 except for minor changes in prices of PR11 quality.
