Farmers in Punjab and Haryana are unhappy with low prices of\n1509 Basmati Paddy offered by Rice Millers. Current arrival in major mandi\u2019s\nacross Haryana and Punjab is maximum 4000-5000 Bags on daily basis. 1509 Paddy\nprices are being traded at INR 2650-2900 per quintal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iran Factor <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Experts in trade feel this price is still high given that\nIran the biggest buyer of Basmati rice is not willing to purchase basmati rice\nfrom India. Crude oil import to India has stopped since US sanctions and Iran\nofficials have made an official statement that they will start to import\nbasmati rice from India only if India resumes import of crude oil. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
