Four bank unions <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/bank-strike-banks-to-remain-closed-for-four-days-this-week\/\">had announced a two-day bank strike<\/a> that would have resulted in banks to remain open only 3 days this week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Banks had called on strike against government&#8217;s decision to merge 10 Public Sector Banks (PSB) into four to preserve identity of each bank. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Assurances from the Government<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The bank unions met Mr Rajeev Kumar, Finance Secretary, who gave assurances on mergers and wage revisions of bank employees.
