{"id":5872,"date":"2020-04-25T15:16:28","date_gmt":"2020-04-25T09:46:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/?p=5872"},"modified":"2020-04-25T15:16:29","modified_gmt":"2020-04-25T09:46:29","slug":"17793-crores-released-during-lockdown-to-8-89-crore-families-under-pm-kisan-samman-nidhi-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/17793-crores-released-during-lockdown-to-8-89-crore-families-under-pm-kisan-samman-nidhi-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"17793 Crores Released During Lockdown to 8.89 Crore Families Under PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The government is taking several measures to provide relief to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/lockdown-impact-on-agriculture-sector\/\">farmers <\/a>during the lockdown period. 17793 Crores released during lockdown to 8.89 Crore families under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/rs-15841-crores-disbursed-to-almost-8-crore-farmers-under-pm-kisan\/\">PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>17793 Crores Released Under PM- Kisan Samman Nidhi<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Considering the effects of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/job-crisis-begins-in-india-as-unemployment-rate-increases-by-23-amid-lockdown\/\">lockdown<\/a>, the\u00a0Department of Agriculture, Cooperation, and Farmers Welfare have released Rs. 17,793 crore from 24 March to date. PM-Kisan has benefitted around 8.89 Crore families. Further, the government has decided to\u00a0distribute pulses to the eligible households under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PM-GKY). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This scheme will provide one kilogram of free pulses per month to every ration card holder covered under National Food Security Act (<a href=\"https:\/\/nfsa.gov.in\/\">NFSA<\/a>). Pulses will be provided for three months, that is, till June under PM-GKY.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"728\" height=\"410\" src=\"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/What-Are-Pulses.jpg\" alt=\"Rs 17793 crores to benefit households by distributing pulses and essentials \" class=\"wp-image-5916\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/What-Are-Pulses.jpg 728w, https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/What-Are-Pulses-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px\" \/><figcaption>Rs 17793 Crores to Benefit Households by Distributing Pulses and Essentials <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Benefits to 19.50 Crore Households<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The officials revealed that 107,077.85<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>million tonnes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/india-may-become-self-sufficient-in-pulses-production-as-imports-fall\/\">pulses<\/a> have been issued to states and UT\u2019s in order to provide food security in the prevailing situation.<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>Andaman and Nicobar, Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Daman &amp; Diu, Goa, Gujarat have already started the distribution of pulses. Besides, States like Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi will commence the distribution in a phased manner as they have received partial stock yet. The scheme will benefit&nbsp;19.50 crore&nbsp;households spread across 36 States and UTs in the country.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In all, the government is making efforts to reboot the economy while
