New harvest of 1509 basmati paddy is here and major arrival\nof the crop in mandi\u2019s in north India  will begin in a week\u2019s time. Correction in\nbasmati rice prices has already started. Prices of most basmati varieties fell\nby 2-5% on average. Non-basmati rice prices are stable and increasing by\nmarginal percentage. Flood reports and uneven rainfall across the Country will\nhave a major impact on prices and harvest of non-basmati rice. In particular, Gobindo\nBhog variety has seen a major increase in prices jumping from INR 58 a kg to\nINR 69 in a matter of months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
