Maharashtra, the host to highest coronavirus cases in India nearing 3000 mark has 2916<\/a> confirmed cases. Accordingly, Mumbai is by far the most affected region in Maharashtra with 1873 cases in the district<\/a> alone. Following that is the Pune division with 395 cases and Thane with over 270 cases. Subsequently, the rest are in Nashik 47, Nagpur 44, Palghar 34, Ahmadnagar 27, Sangli 26, Aurangabad 23 and rest of the districts 177.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

High Growth Rate of New Cases<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Maharashtra started witnessing 3-digit growth in cases on 4th<\/sup> of April when over 205 cases<\/a> were reported. Since then the new Coronavirus cases in Maharashtra have been increasing at an astonishing pace especially in Mumbai district (BMC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, 2434 active cases are there in Maharashtra and we are hoping that they decrease further as more people recover from COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Orange Zone 15 Districts :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gondia, Buldhana, Washim, Latur, Yavatmal, Hingoli, Amravatai, Akola, Osmanabad, Jalgaon, Jalna, Ratnagiri, Satara, Sindhudurg and Kolhapur<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Green Zone with No Cases 8 Districts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bhandara, Nanded, Wardha, Gadchiroli, Nandurbar, Solapur, Parbhani and Chandrapur<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Severity in Maharashtra<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Out of estimated 50,000 samples tested, only 2916 confirmed positive cases, thereby the conversion rate is 5.8%. Addressing the sternness, over 61,247 individuals are under home quarantine to stop the spread of infection. While 5,064 people are placed under institutional quarantine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, out of the 755 Tablighi Jamaat attendees from the state 55 tested COVID-19 positive. Subsequently, rigid actions are being imposed to contain the spread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crowd of Migrants in Bandra Station<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Migrant workers in Maharashtra defied government orders and assembled in Bandra station in Mumbai. As they staged their protest against lockdown extension until 3rd<\/sup> of May and asked authorities to provide for conveyance to be sent back to their respective homes in other states. The police came to handle the situation and till now its unclear what sparked the gathering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
