Prices of Basmati Rice are expected to be corrected in the coming months due to increase in sowing area of Basmati Paddy by 12% compared to previous year. Supply of basmati paddy was low in 2018-19 season as farmers opted for sowing of non-basmati paddy. Low supply and low stock in pipeline from previous year led to continuous increase in prices of basmati rice from November 2018 until end of June 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Non-Basmati rice sown area has decreased by over 1.1 million hectares according to reports by agricultural experts due to delayed and low monsoon. Non-Basmati prices are stable now but we can expect an increase in prices in the current harvest season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
