India partially lifts restrictions on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/rice-exports-from-india-fall-amid-coronavirus-lockdown\/\">export<\/a> of malaria and 23 other drugs after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/hiked-tariffs-to-be-major-discussion-point-ahead-of-howdy-modi-meet-between-trump-and-modi\/\">Trump<\/a>\u2019s retaliation warning.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Restrictions Lifted<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Indian foreign ministry spokesman said that the government has decided to allow exports of hydroxychloroquine and other essential drugs to all the neighboring countries. Further, the country will also provide essential drugs to the badly affected countries. However, the quantity will depend on domestic requirements. Orders will be fulfilled on a humanitarian basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further, India has continued the restrictions on the export of protective gears including masks along with ventilators. India put a ban of 26 drugs including paracetamol, several antibiotics, such as Tinidazole and erythromycin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Medicines-Paracetamol-Export.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4943\" width=\"490\" height=\"326\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Medicines-Paracetamol-Export.jpg 910w, https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Medicines-Paracetamol-Export-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Medicines-Paracetamol-Export-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 490px) 100vw, 490px\" \/><figcaption>India Lifts Restrictions on Export of 24 Drugs Including Hydroxychloroquine<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Use of the Drug<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/g20-members-agree-to-keep-international-trade-open-to-tackle-supply-issues-caused-by-coronavirus-pandemic\/\"> trade<\/a> ministry notified the lift on restrictions of exporting two dozen drug formulation ingredients, which are required to make the finished drugs. The Trump administration reported that hydroxychloroquine yielded positive results in the treatment of the coronavirus. However, the study has inconclusive results and there is not much science behind its use in the Coronavirus. Hence, New York City\u2019s Health and Hospitals Corp. are advising but not requiring doctors to use hydroxychloroquine as a preventive measure.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Warning<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The US President Trump sought help from Modi to allow the export of hydroxychloroquine tablets, an anti-malarial drug. He asked for the same after India put a ban on the export of some essential drugs amid the coronavirus outbreak. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides, he mentioned that the drug combined with other drugs can help the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/health-topics\/coronavirus#tab=tab_1\">COVID-19<\/a> cases that soared high in just a few weeks&#8217; time. Further, he stated that India may face retaliatory actions if it did not make the delivery despite the request. Also, Nepal and Sri Lanka have made a similar request to India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Experts state that the decision is an ideal example of how trade relations will develop post COVID-19.
