Coir Board\u2019s initiative Coir Vikas Yojana (CVY) entirely focuses on the enhancement of the MSME sector. Thus, encourages exploring domestic and international export markets. Further, keen emphasis on women empowerment, entrepreneurship, skill and training, innovation as well as manufacturing. Moreover, raw material usage, trade services, and coir activities are under the activities of Coir Vikas Yojana. Additionally, this is an extension of Mahila Coir Yojana (MCY<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coir Vikas Yojana Associations\u00a0<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The CVY works in close association with the following schemes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Skill Upgradation <\/a>and MCY<\/li>
  2. Export Market Promotion (EMP)<\/li>
  3. Development of Production Infrastructure (DP)<\/li>
  4. Domestic market Promotion (DMP)<\/li>
  5. Trade and Industry Related Functional Support Services (TIRFSS)<\/li>
  6. Group, Personal Accident Insurance scheme<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
    Salient Visions and Features of the <\/strong>Coir Vikas Yojana <\/h5>\n\n\n\n

    An array of benefits is offered under the scheme, while the benefits are a reap of the associated schemes as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. A subsidy<\/a> of 75% for yarn spinning rats, coir processing, Coir equipment, machines, raw materials, and so on<\/li>
    2. The main focus on quality at the grass-root level<\/li>
    3. Encourage to inculcate proper techniques to produce quality fiber, yarn and other products<\/li>
    4. Spread awareness among the peers<\/li>
    5. Setting up coir service units to promote productivity, quality<\/li>
    6. Updating the present coir units<\/li>
    7. Establishment of units at the place of potential<\/li>
    8. Making sector pollution-free<\/li>
    9. Finally, to improve the income<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Nodal Agencies\u00a0<\/strong>for CVY<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

      The coir board<\/a> in Kochi is the nodal agency of the CVY scheme. Further, the implanting agencies of the scheme are the Regional or Sub-regional training centers, otherwise the offices of the board. Additionally, the board submits the quarterly report to the Ministry of MSME. Furthermore, interventions are from the Central Institute of Coir Technology and research institute, if and when necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. The list of applications<\/strong>: head-quarters, regionals offices, and the coir website will have the information. Also, a data bank by the coir board.<\/li>
      2. Monitoring<\/strong>: regional offices along with the chairman, secretary, and CEO of the coir board<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
        Eligible Candidates\u00a0<\/strong>under CVY<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

        Any individual in the MSME<\/a> sector related to the coir establishment can apply for availing the benefits of the scheme. Yet, it is important to complete 5 years of the successful operation of the unit. Also, necessary to have a Udyog Aadhaar<\/a>. However, the eligibility will differ for each scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Structure of Assistance\u00a0<\/strong>under CVY<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
        1. Entire coir section will receive financial aid; however, each unit will have a different limit that is set by the Ministry Act of MSME<\/li>
        2. To avail benefits, duly fill and apply online. Subsequently, the officer in charge will check the application. Further on, the subsidy will be set.<\/li>
        3. Following that, the same shall be sent to Coir Board head-quarters for approval of assistance<\/li>
        4. The Coir Vikas Yojana will abide by the Standards set by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)<\/li>
        5. Nonetheless, the limit of financial assistance is Rs 2.5 crore<\/li>
        6. A committee of 5 members, 2 from trade and 3 senior officials will have the final say in the maximum limit.<\/li>

            Skill Upgradation and MCY<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

            MCY mainly strives for women empowerment by providing them ample opportunities to become financially stable. On the other hand, Skill up-gradation focuses on skill improvement by conducting several programmes. For instance, Entrepreneur development Programmes (EDPs), and Exposure Tours and Awareness Programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Export Market Promotion Scheme (EMP)<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

            This adapts product specific and market-specific programs to increase the market value of coir products. Accordingly, it achieves this by attending workshops, international seminars, and conferences. Further, it enhances the publicity globally to expand the market. Consequently, another main unit of this scheme is the External Market Development Assistance (EMDA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Development of Production Infrastructure (DP)<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

            The main agenda of this scheme to improve the infrastructure of the coir units. Thus, it aids in the procurement of new and advance technologies. Further, encourages the use of modern machines and equipment while adapting to modern techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Domestic Market Promotion Scheme (DMP)<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

            This scheme will assist in <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            1. Market development assistance<\/li>
            2. Quantum assistance<\/li>
            3. Guide in the utilization of financial assistance<\/li>
            4. Encourage to participate in fair and trade markets<\/li>
