{"id":16543,"date":"2021-02-28T13:41:00","date_gmt":"2021-02-28T08:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/?p=16543"},"modified":"2021-02-28T11:43:06","modified_gmt":"2021-02-28T06:13:06","slug":"rex-system-application-in-octs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/rex-system-application-in-octs\/","title":{"rendered":"REX System Application in OCTs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>According to the Overseas Association Decision and Council Decision context, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/what-is-rex-why-is-it-important-for-exporters-to-register\/\">REX system<\/a> is applicable in the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs). Note that the REX system applies to OCTs since 1 January 2020. Thus, tariff preferences will be given only to the registered exporters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-stipulations-for-the-application-of-the-rex-system\">Stipulations for the Application of the REX System  <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>For OCT to apply the REX system, it must satisfy two conditions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>An undertaking to abide by the structure of the REX system.<\/li><li>Submit the contact details of the competent authorities (deals with registered exporters) to the Commission.<\/li><li>Norway, Switzerland, and Turkey&#8217;s GSP rules are similar to the GSP rules of the EU. Thus, the REX system applies to these countries as well.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-rex-system-with-respect-to-gsp-scheme-of-the-eu\">REX System With Respect to GSP Scheme of the EU <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The REX system replaces the certificate of origin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/how-to-apply-for-certificate-of-origin-and-gsp-form-a\/\">Form A<\/a> issuing system. Currently, the GSP benefiting countries use the new REX system from the EU. Also, they need not develop an IT system; instead, they can use the EU&#8217;s structure. Also, the regional cumulation applied by GSP beneficiaries countries declares a statement of origin through their registered exporters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-important-dates\">Important Dates <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Initially, GSP beneficiaries countries could notify the EU until 30 June 2016 if they opt for the REX system. Further, the date was postponed to 1 January 2019. Approximately 40 countries, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grainmart.in\/news\/indias-exports-expand-6-16-in-january-trade-deficit-comes-down-to-usd-14-54-billion\/\">India<\/a>, agreed to be a part of the REX system by 1 January 2017. Following that, 17 countries came into the system by 2018 and 22 nations in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-transition-period\">Transition period<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A country will have 12 months to transit from the former system to the current REX system. Concerning that, 30 June 2020 was the due date to the nations.
